Who are we?

Each class from year 2 to year 6  has two representatives, voted for in a class election.

What do we do?

We have meetings with Mrs Stockham and she lets us know what events are going on in school or being planned for us, so we have a chance to tell our classes and report back our views, before making decisions.  We discuss, with citizenship club, which charities to support each year. We all enjoy non-uniform days and cake sales as ways of fund-raising!

We are at the moment discussing ways in which we can improve our playtimes, so that everyone can have a happy time and do the activities they enjoy. The PTA has given us some money to buy equipment for playtimes - thank you!    We make up rules for playtime and talk to the teachers about these if they need to be changed.

We also have a say in other areas of school life.  For example, we said we would like to make more use of the nature reserve, and the teachers are now planning for this.  We also said we liked working with children in other classes and year groups, and this is happening more too.  Another thing we have been involved in is making the school a healthier place, with encouraging Walk to School week activities in our classes, and discussing healthy eating.

Recently we had a discussion about improving our lunchtimes and the teachers and dinner ladies have put our ideas into action.  First we had a trial period, but now we have made the changes permanent, because they worked!

We put the minutes of our meetings on the web site, so you can see what we talk about!
